Three Years of Weird Xmas Tales...

This fall Studio Wondercabinet created our third annual Xmas card set inspired by the work of early weird writer H.P. Lovecraft and his circle.

In 2015 we created the C'thulhu Christmas Greeting Card set, an affectionate tribute to the C'thulhu Mythos stories of Lovecraft.  In 2016 we made the King in Yellow Xmas cards, a tribute to the King in Yellow story cycle of Robert W. Chambers.  In 2017, we created a double set of Xmas cards inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's Dreamlands stories.

What we call Lovecraft's Dream Cycle now is a collection of short stories and novellas written between 1918 and 1932, set in a sprawling, complex fantasy world which wise and experienced dreamers visit in dreams. Several of Lovecraft's most familiar stories today are Dream Cycle stories - "The Cats of Ulthar" and "The Outsider" are both Dream stories - but the great work, "The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath," was unpublished at the time of the author's death.  There are long searches for lost cities!  There are monsters!  There are armies of cats!
