I have two very different original paintings about scales in Changeling Artist Collective’s “Scales” art auction this week. The auction has just begun, and will run until Noon EST, on Friday, September 27th, 2019.
Wish us well, we are fighting the aggressive entropy of Facebook’s new algorithms and need all the love and shares we can get.
One scaly piece is recent and light-hearted, a June Fae fairy that evolved from some scaled insect. Like all my fairies he (?) was painted to please only the artist.
The Excitable Bug Fae means well but squeaking “boo!” at the cat gets no housework done and the cat is beginning to look at him with a cold and predatory eye...
The other is old enough to vote, an acrylic illustration for the old Dragonstorm CCG that I found in my art files and fit the auction’s theme. Scaled Skin is a CCG illustration from Black Dragon Press’s “Dragonstorm; Kanchaka Valley” expansion, 1996. I have several traditionally-painted illustrations from games that came and went before some of you were born, and most of them are too project-specific to find homes now, but - cross your fingers - “Scaled Skin” might make the jump from illustration to art someone just likes.
Visit the auction and look at this month’s scaled fantasy art created by the Changeling community artists. If you would like to own one of the works, there are instructions for placing bids in the introduction. If you generally like our work, shares are appreciated.
Changeling Artist Collective’s “Scales” art auction starts at noon EST on September 23rd and ends at noon EST on September 27th.
