Poppies for Changeling's "Odd Fae"

Let me introduce my Poppy Fae, Seelie and Unseelie - Good and Bad - for Changeling Artist Collective’s “Odd Fae” card game. This is a detail, to focus on faces.  I’ve painted my two illustrations as a single large painting, a double portrait since the Poppy Fae are a pair in the context of the game. The full painting is a 11”x14” watercolor double-portrait, and when I post in the auction, the faces might be as easy to read online as they are in person.

Each fae brings the gift of a potion.  One bowl brings ease from pain, one brings destruction, and yet both bowls hold the same potion.

“Odd Fae” is Changeling’s group project,  a traditional pairs-type card game, like Old Maid, where each artist of the collective could work in their own style to paint two original fairies with a shared theme but still contrasting in nature. Our goal is to create a lovely card deck that is both a fun family game and a collection of beautiful artwork by our group.  The “Odd Fae” game is now in the design phase.  It will go to Kickstarter later this month, where we will raise funds (knock on wood) to have it printed.

The Poppy Fae will be part of Changeling’s August Odd Fae Art Auction, celebrating the art of the Odd Fae game.  I’ll post updates  when the auction goes live, or you can follow Changeling for more general information.
