June 20th, and the Cook's cat is not what it used to be. As it becomes fairy, it becomes helpful, affectionate, eager to please. It stirs the soup and stokes the fire under the oven. The one problem is that it's too soft-hearted now to kill mice.
The Cook likes him well enough but she's going to have to get another cat.
This year I'm sketching fae from the world I'm building, the Other Side of the Wood, where fae are caused by fairy dust, and the dust is alive. There's more on the Cook's Cat Fae on its Patreon post.
On Wednesdays this month I post a new fae sketch. Also on Wednesdays, I invite my patrons to nominate their favorite fae to be the subject of this week's Fairy Fiction Friday, a very short story posted Friday mornings, general access.
