My Write Hand is Better

My write hand is better!

I think this might be the selfy-est selfy I ever selfied...

I think this might be the selfy-est selfy I ever selfied...

The Thursday before last was a lovely day with blue skies and spring weather and flowers blooming, and I went for a walk during which I tripped on the sidewalk and fell heavily, causing various damages to my person but most importantly making my write wrist and hand swell up. Apparently the swelled bits were full of pain, because whenever I tried to use it, pain came out.  So two days later (because It was only pain?) I finally schlepped in to Urgent Care where we learned my wrist was badly sprained but not apparently broken (yay!) and I got a nifty black wrist brace to wear for a couple of weeks.  Whee!

FWIW, the walking and tripping occurred at Seattle's fancy new North Transfer Station, i.e., our state-of-the-art dump, which is an amazing place with composting and recycling and beautiful landscaping and spritzers of Febreeze overhead, but somehow makes everything 30% funnier than just tripping and falling any old where.  But I digress...

So now it's eleven days later and my fingers work pretty well, huzzah!, but I'm still in the brace  and activities requiring lateral movement of the wrist are still a bit iffy.  Know what requires lateral movements of the wrist?  Pretty much everything!  Drawing in pencil.  Mousing around my computer desktop.  Picking up weighty objects.  Also, for some reason, chopping vegetables, which sucks in the food department, but again I digress...

But now the hand is much better and I'm working on projects again. I'm working carefully, but I am working.  That means a lot to me.
